The Metal Sphere Shooter is a brute force weapon formerly used by Alpha 1 Team member Dunkan Bulk. It can be used to shoot dense cobalt-nickel spheres. Only the strongest Heroes can wield this as a primary weapon due to the weight of the device.

History[]

During a battle in New Stellac City, Von Nebula created a black hole with his Black Hole Orb Staff that sucked up the Heroes' weapons, including the Metal Sphere Shooter, though Bulk eventually got it back.

When Bulk was given the Upgrade to fire-resistant armor, he traded in this weapon for a melee weapon, and then later for a pair of Wrist Blades.

Example Usage[]

In Core Crisis, Bulk used this weapon in a battle against Corroder by shooting an Iron beam that was above the 'Villain.

Function[]

The Sphere Shooter shoots dense nickle coblat spheres and can be used for melee.

Set Information[]

The Metal Sphere Shooter was included with both of the Hero Factory sets that featured Dunkan Bulk from 2010.

The metal sphere shooter is a brute force weapon, used by Heroes who favor brawn over finesse. (Yes, we’re talking about YOU, Dunkan Bulk.) Its no-nonsense design is made for one thing: moving dense cobalt-nickel spheres from one place to another, very quickly. It has a rapid-load mechanism that generates spheres from compact memory wire on demand, and can fire up to 20 times a minute. Laser sights are enhanced with onboard guidance sensors to help place the spheres exactly where the Hero wants them placed.

The weapon itself is quite heavy, so only the most stalwart Heroes are comfortable using this as their primary weapon. The tiny memory wire ammunition alone weighs many kilograms. The spheres rarely explode, they are meant to punch their way through obstacles. But if a sphere is going fast enough, and hits something explosive in just the right way… watch out.
