Preston Stormer, also known as “The Pro”, is the leader of the Alpha 1 Team, and has completed more Missions than any other Hero. He is a fairly new model of Hero, but behaves in a way typical of “Classic Heroes.”

Biography

Early Life

Preston Stormer was created in the Assembly Tower many years ago when Hero Factory was first founded and built. Preston’s first Team included the first Alpha 1 Team leader, Thresher and Stormer’s fellow Rookie Heroes: Von Ness, Dunkan Bulk, and Jimi Stringer. During his early years as a rookie, he was primarily mentored by respected civilian professor Aldous Witch, who taught him an other rookies in his class all thing Geology and technology. It is also during this period that Stormer received his first weapon in the form of a Frost Pistol.

New Stellac City and Betrayal

Stormer attacking the Drone Alone

Stormer attacking the ''Drone''

Many months later, Thresher's team was dispatched to New Stellac City in response to a routine Hero response to a burglary in progress, the Alpha 1 Team soon found themselves facing a much more dangerous threat when they came across a giant heavily armed Drone packing a dozen of powerful plutonium cryptid canisters, having enough firepower to destroy half of the City. Upon contact, the Thresher and Preston Stormer begin firing at the Drone to draw his attention, while Von Ness gets visibly frightened about the situation, in an attempt to make it stop targeting civilian populated areas. Thresher orders the Rookies to take cover near the Hero Craft while he makes a run at the Drone to distract him, during the process, Thresher gets hit by one of the Drone's plasma projectiles leaving him badly injured and lying unconscious.

With their experienced Team Leader unavailable to provide guidance and strategy, Ness and Stormer found themselves on their own. Stormer urges Ness to act quickly to stop the Drone before it could harm any civilians. However, Ness insists that they wait for Hero-backup, a stance Stormer opposes, given the potential destruction the Drone could cause in a short amount of time. Instead, Stormer instructs Ness to cover Thresher while he attempts to draw the Drone's attention away from them. As Stormer confronts the Drone alone, Ness attempts to escape on the Hero Craft, leaving Stormer and their Injured leader. Stormer notices the fleeing vessel and jumps on the windscreen, cracking it and demanding that Ness bring the Drop Ship down immediately. Refusing to comply, Ness proceeds to shake Stormer off the Ship. While Stormer jumps from the ship to battle the Drone alone, Ness escapes the scene by flying off on the Hero Craft, going rogue. After many months of attempts from Preston and other Heroes to track Von Ness down, they were unable to locate him due to Ness scrambling his Hero tracking signal.

As the Alpha leader

Stormer went on to a successful career as a Hero, and eventually became the leader of the Alpha 1 Team, though Stormer was less than overjoyed when he realized he’d be replacing his own idol Thresher. At one point, Stormer requested the construction of a unique weapon, fitted with an array of tools he knew would be useful during Missions, which would become his new primary form of defense and offense throughout his Career.

Career

Since he became Alpha Leader, Stormer has led numerous expeditions across the galaxy, befriending many on his journey, including becoming quite close with Mekron City Police officer Drax, and capturing many villains quickly granting him the respect of many throughout the galaxy. In one such instance, Stormer travelled to the mining planet Tallos 5 and encountered a mining bot who would later become the Villain Fire Lord.

  • One of Stormers first notable missions was a Mission to Almaak V to investigate the disappearance of the neighbouring planet Almaak IV. There was no obvious natural explanation, and the population of Almaak V were descending into panic, whilst the government blamed a weapon supposedly developed in the Prima Giedi star system. However, Stringer recognized that the missing planet’s moon remained in place, suggesting the planet was hidden and not moved. The hero used his skill with sonic manipulation to disable the holographic cloaking system, and the entire incident was revealed as a plot by Almaak V government figures who sought to spark a war with the Prima Giedi planets.
  • Stormer and the Alpha 1 Team then fought against the Villain Cornelius Zo, who commanded an army of giant Tiger Ants. The ants were destroying the City, but Bulk devised a counter-attack using a tank known as the “Crusher”, the appearance of which caused the ants to flee. The same year, the team also apprehended a notorious space pirate.
  • Preston and the Alpha 1 Team accepted a radio interview with Hero Factory FM where Mak Megahertz talked to them about their battle with Cornelius Zo and gave him a brief recounting of the event, before being called off to another Mission.
  • Stormer was approached by The LEGO Group to examine his newly released action figure. He commented, “A little small, isn’t it?”.
  • On Hero Factory FM, Mak Megahertz jokingly referred to Stormer as “good old Stormer.” Stormer began calling their switchboard to express his anger, and Mak Megahert retracted the statement.

Rise of the Rookies

Merak-9

XPlodePreston

At some point, new Rookies William Furno, Mark Surge, and Natalie Breez are introduced. Stormer is assigned to train Furno during a Trail Mission on merak 9 along with Bulk and Stringer, in which the Alpha 1 Team is tasked with guarding and escorting a shipment of C-4000 explosives that is being targeted for hijacking by Villains XPlode and Rotor. As Furno observes from the hero craft above, the tension escalates when Stormer fires a warning shot at Rotor, prompting the Villain to retaliate and engage in battle. Eventually, XPlode makes his entrance riding in his Vehicle and charges at Stormer, leading to a confrontation between the two. During the scuffle, Stringer is injured by XPlode, and Stormer quickly takes Stringer to a nearby tunnel for shelter, just before XPlode can finish him off. In this refuge, Stormer, Bulk, and the injured Stringer brace themselves for a counterattack from the Villains, only to be met with a relentless barrage of fire from the duo.

Stormer breaks away from the trio and finally stands up for himself before revealing himself and shooting a frost bolt from his Multi-Functional Ice Weapon, completely freezing Xplode's Meteor blaster beyond repair, to which he then discards it. Xplode then Battles the hero in melee combat with his Spiked club, landing hit after hit on the Hero. When the battle eventually goes sour for XPlode after getting his Club wrested out of his hands, the criminal unleashes his Explosive Spike Missiles as a last resort at the Hero, giving him the chance to selfishly abandon Rotor, who had at that point now been rendered unarmed, and escapes the scene. When XPlode abandons his sidekick, The Heroes surround Rotor before Stormer calls upon Furno to arrest the criminal. After initall humilation from rotor, Furno subdues the villain before Rotor attempts to attack the Rookie with his Escape Plan weapon, but Stormer pushes Furno out of the path of the blast, allowing the villain to escape and deeming Furno's mission a failure. Back at HQ, Stormer advised Furno to replay the Mission in the Training Spheres, to improve his skills along with Surge and Breez. That evening, Stormer goes to the training Sphere to retrieve Furno for a mission only to find him nearly unconscious from how hard he was training and Furno is promptly taken to Quaza Recharge Chamber for Core Recharge.

Lemus-2

Stormer later decides to take the newest Rookies on a training mission. However, before they reach the location, Stormer receives a transmission from HQ informing him about an attack on the Explosives Plant on Lemus 2. Realizing that Xplode and Rotor are behind the attack, Stormer insists that three Rookies wouldn't be able to handle it. Nevertheless, he ultimately decides to head to Lemus to complete Alpha Team's latest mission. At Stormer's suggestion, they launch Furno's Hero Pod to distract the villains while the heroes land safely. The plan works, allowing the Heroes to land and, after some encouraging words from Stormer, engage in battle with the villains. During the fight, Stormer is taken down cold by the combined firepower of Xplode and Rotor. As Mark and Surge rush to aid their fallen leader, Furno bravely steps forward, insisting that Stormer be moved to safety while he takes on the two villains to settle his score with Rotor. Once revived, Stormer discovers that Furno has successfully captured Rotor. He compliments the Rookies on their efforts before heading to the Hero Craft to interrogate Rotor alone.

Tantalus 5

After Rotor's capture, Zib informs the team that, due to the intense battle, the heroes must be immediately sent to the Quaza Recharge chamber. However, since only one hero can use the chamber at a time, Furno is prioritized first, having sustained the most damage in the previous conflict. Just then, Stormer and Zib receive an alert regarding the villain Corroder, who is attacking the construction site of the unfinished Penitentiary 1331 on Tantalus 5. They dispatch Bulk, Stringer, Breez, and Surge to confront him; the latter two have just finished cleaning up after Stormer’s earlier mishap. As the heroes engage with Corroder, he manages to pin Bulk under a pile of girders. Stormer is left watching the battle from the Hero Factory, unable to intervene until his Hero Core fully recharges , although he maintains radio contact with the Alpha 1 Team. Eventually, Furno finishes charging, but after expressing doubts about facing the Acid-tongued villain and suggesting other teams like Omega Team for assistance, he is equipped with acid-resistant armor specifically designed for this mission, which ultimately proves to be life-saving. After Corroder is forced to flee, Stormer compliments him on his bluff tactics. Stormer later expresses his thoughts on the attacks of XPlode, Rotor, and Corroder, suspecting that the Heroes were being played and that these attacks were somehow coordinated.

Mekron City

Later, Stormer, Breez, Surge, and Furno were sent on a Mission to Mekron City after receiving an alert from the City's police station's Hero Factory Alert /Panic button. There, Stormer speaks with his old friend Drax, but the Chief acts violently and threatens the Hero with a Plasma Gun. Stormer easily disarms the Chief rendering him harmless, however, Drax then sends out a fleet of Floater Enforcer Drones to attack the heroes. Stormer assigns the rookies to deal with the drones as target practice while he Cuffs Drax before joining in and destroying most of them. Upon the fleet's defeat, Stormer advises the Heroes to keep their heads high right as Meltdown crashes through the station skylight attacking the Heroes as he descends. The criminal flexes his use of ''Degraded Nuclear Radiation'' before attacking Furno with his Tentacle whip, to which Stormer pushes the rookie and takes the blast.

After Meltdown escapes, Stormer, along with Drax, is rushed back to HQ, where Zib diagnoses Stormer, discovering that microscopic Nanobots had been deployed into his system from Meltdown's radioactive blast. Unfortunately, Stormer, like Drax before him, succumbed to the effects of the nanobots, attacking Zib, throwing his assistant Quadal at the heroes, and escaping into the Factory with the ultimate goal of escaping and destroying Hero Factory. Bulk, Stringer, and Furno are sent to subdue him and during their confrontation, Stormer throws Bulk off of a Training Sphere, nearly killing him, steals a jetpack, and escapes into Makuhero City. Furno goes after him and engages in combat with Stormer atop the City's skyscrapers. With the little sanity left in Stormer resisting the urge to kill Furno, the Hero passes out and, is returned to the Hero Factory, where he is administered the antidote to the Nanobots and recovers. After this incident, Stormer reasoned that someone wanted him dead.

New Stellac and Von Nebula

That week, Stormer, Stringer, Dunkan Bulk were sent to New Stellac City on a Mission to investigate a mysterious meteorite that fell from the sky and crashed in the City. Stormer was persuaded by Quadal to try out his new armor on this Mission. Upon arriving in New Stellac City, Stormer realise that it was a trap, just as two more meteorites hurtled into the square. These contained Thunder and Corroder inside it, who emerged and engage in battle with the Alpha Team. During the scuffle, Thunder reveals his Nebula Gas Cannon before shooting Stormer, causing the Alpha 1 Team to lose communication with Zib and Quadal. Stormer survived due to armor that Quadal gave Stormer for this Mission. The Rookie Team was later sent as backup, but more meteorites, containing XPlode and Meltdown, arrived at roughly the same time. Stormer and his team save the Rookies from the henchbots’ barrage of blaster fire, and the factions began to fight. As they battled, Von Ness, having transformed into an ebony behemoth, appeared in the sky and revealed his new name: “Von Nebula.” He created a black hole that sucked all of the Heroes’ weapons, including Stormer’s Multifunctional Ice Weapon. Determined to bring Von Nebula to justice, Stormer leapt into the black hole, with Furno boldly following.

Stormer and Furno retrieving the Black Hole Orb Staff

Inside the black hole, Stormer and Furno used Anti-Gravity Thruster Rings to keep from being drawn into the vortex’s heart. Von Nebula then reappeared and demanded the rings, but the heroes would not reveal which one of them had them. Von Nebula attacks Stormer, but Furno used the rings to reverse the gravity of the black hole. Stormer seized his chance and grabbed the Von Nebula’s Black Hole Orb Staff, sucking his former teammate into it. Stormer and Furno barely escaped as the black hole exploded behind them. After Von Nebula’s henchbots had all been arrested, Stormer made an official announcement to the public: William Furno, Mark Surge and Natalie Breez had been promoted to the status of an official Hero. Later, Furno and Stormer discussed the security of the cell they had placed the Black Hole Orb Staff in.

Other Missions

  • Stormer then led the Alpha 1 Team to chase down fuel smugglers in the Faradai Belt. The Mission was successful thanks to Natalie Breez.
  • Stormer and Furno were dispatched to an alien swamp world to stop the rampage of a giant insect. Furno downed the insect with sticky mud, splattering Stormer but completing the Mission successfully.
  • Stormer lost a foot race to Natalie Breez on Sarazon 8. When Mak Megahertz brought this up on Hero Factory FM whilst interviewing Breez, Stormer sent angry audio-mail consisting of inaudible yelling. Breez deciphered this as “Basically, I’m dead.” Mak then called Stormer a “big lugnut” and “teddy bear”, reassuring Breez that she was fine. Stormer sent mail to the show, telling Mak that he was going to rip his arms off as soon as he got out of the Refitting Chamber. Stormer caught up with the DJ and forcefully disassembled him, though Mak Megahertz was later reassembled.

Ordeal of Fire

When Tanker Station 22 Fuel Depot is under attack from the Fire Villains. The Alpha Team is sent to defend the station and stop the villains. As soon as thew heroes arrive, they engae in battle. During the conflict, Stormer assigns Furno to take the high ground for reconnaissance, while him and the others keep the civilians safe. Eventually, as Surge runs to join Fruno, the heroes are ambushed by Drilldozer, who emerges from the ground infront of them. Stormer launches two attacks at the hulking brute, only for Drilldozer to dodge them effortlessly. This leads Stormer to acknowledge the mining bot's newly acquired speed before getting walloped in the face by a single swing from the villain's Turbine Drill, sending him crashing. Upon the rookies aiding their fallen leader, they all fire upon the villain, who maniacally laughs away at the ineffectiveness of the Heroes' attacks, leading them to retreat from Drilldozer who fires upon the fleeing heroes.

As the conflict escalates, Breez is able to retrieve and safely escort a group of civilian on Stormer's command as Stormer exchanges fire with one of the airborne villains. suddenly Furno is ambushed and Stormer rushes to aid the fallen rookie leader before coming face to face with the Villains' leader Fire Lord. The Leader greets Stormer recalling their supposed encounter on Tallos 5, yet Stormer does not recognize the villain. Before he can elaborate further, in a supposed rage, Furno fires a shot at the villain, only for Fire Lord to absorb the blast effortlessly, supercharging himself before firing back Surge. As Stormer regroups with the others, at the realization that they're out-gunned, the heroes make their attempted escape along with the remaining surviving civilian civilians, only for the gang to surround them. The villains prepare to finish them off only for Surge to boldly break away and start destroying a bundle of Fuel Canisters. Fire Lord immediately catches wind of this and directs the entire gang to go after him, allowing the remaining heroes and surviving civilians to escape. With some heavy resistance from Furno to retreat, stormer ensures him that Surge is doing what he was built for and convinces him to leave with the others, ensuring Furno that they will return for Surge. As they fly off, the gang surrounds and incapacitates Surge on Fire lord's command all shooting Surge in unison.

Stormer being Upgraded

Stormer receiving his Upgrade.

When they returned to the Hero Factory, Stormer trys to convince Mr. Makuro to give them the Newley developed Upgrade early in order to better combat their new threat. Unwilling at first, Makuro eventually relented due to Stormer’s commitment, and thus the three Heroes were all rebuilt early. Immediately after being rebuilt, Stormer, Breez, and Furno were sent to Virtual Training in order to adapt to their new bodies. Despite how they handled their session, they insisted they were set and returned to Tanker Station 22.

They initially attempt to go on a stealth Mission, though Furno blows their cover after his weapon set off, blowing a chunk of a tower and alerting Villain Nitroblast, who then flees to Fire Lord and Drilldozer, situated elsewhere in the complex with the Heroes hot on his tail before the newly retrofitted Heroes launch into battle against the Mining Bots. As the other villains scatter, Fire Lord is left alone with Stormer and begins questioning the validity of his encounter with him before charging at him with his jetpack to initiate their fight and slamming the hero against a Vat. As the villian Shares his story, he slams his hand into the vat, absorbing the power within the Fuel, supercharging him and allowing him to create a ball of energy from the fuel and launches it directly at Stormer. The impact sends the Hero crashing to the ground, where he is then stomped on by Fire Lord, before being picked up and carried around the station. As the Fire Lord prepared to drop Stormer off a ledge, a Hero Pod containing Julius Nex and Nathan Evo arrived, allowing Stormer to break free and regroup with the other Heroes while Fire lord and the rest of the gang likewise regroup. After the villians are met with the newly introduced calm collective Evo, who escalates the battle into a three-on-five showdown, the Heroes successfully apprehend Drilldozer and Nitroblast.

Stormer, Breez and Furno watching Surge receive his upgrade

Stormer, Breez and Furno watching Surge receive his upgrade as Fire Lord is Escorted: ''We'll get him help, whether he wants it or not, there's hope for him...''

A now furious Fire Lord flees to the Station's largest fuel deposit, with the Heroes hot on his tail. where he absorbes the power from within, supercharging him and granting him the most powerful he's been yet. As the Heroes open fire only for their efforts to be ineffective, with Fire Lord returning fire and taking Nex, Breez and Evo out of the fight, suddenly, the Villain's Supply Ship hijacked by an escaped Surge appears and crashes right into him, severing his hand and cutting him off his power. As the villain recovers from the impact severely weakened, Stormer, with the combined efforts of Nex and Furno, lunches himself at Fire Lord and sends him to the ground with a bash from Stormer's baton before cuffing him. Back at the Hero Factory, as they watched Surge receive his Upgrade, the Fire Lord was escorted in. Stormer ensures Furno and Breez thatFire Lord would be cleansed of his addiction to fuel. Stormer was later at the ceremony to commemorate Surge’s bravery.

Savage Planet

Stormer Being Upgraded to His 3.0 Form

Stormer receiving his 3.0 Upgrade.

Stormer, along with other members of the Alpha 1 Team, received a distress call from Aldous Witch on the jungle planet of Quatros. A report from Rookie Hero Rocka, however, indicated that the planet had become unstable and that all wildlife would attack everything in sight. In an effort to adapt to the environment, the Alpha 1 Team was given an 3.0 Upgrade, receiving new animal armor. Stormer gained the power of a rhinoceros.

Arriving on Quatros, the Heroes discovered that Professor Aldous Witch had been turned into a tyrant known as Witch Doctor after being exposed to the Quaza from a mysterious skull. During this time, Stormer allowed Heroes Rocka and Furno to teach them to lead the Alpha 1 Team. He split them up into two groups: he and Bulk would be led by Rocka while Furno commanded Stringer and Nex. Rocka, Stormer, and Bulk went through a teleporter that shrunk them. However, Nex was eventually able to revert them to their original sizes. Then Stormer personally fought Aldous Witch until Rocka enter the battle. However, in the end Stormer swiped the Witch Doctor’s Skull Staff, causing Aldous Witch's energy to fade. They then transported Aldous Witch back to the Hero Factory where he got contained in the Villain Storage Facility.

The Breakout

Stormer and the Alpha 1 Team were stationed at the Hero Factory Breakout began when Heroes William Furno and Rocka were escorting a recently arrested criminal called Voltix to the Villain Storage Facility. Voltix however, used his power on Von Nebula's Black Hole Orb Staff which caused the chain reaction which deactivated all the Villain’s cells laser bars allowing all Villains at the Hero Factory to escape. Then Stormer led the Alpha 1 Team into the fray. He started fighting Jawblade but when Rookie Hero Nathan Evo tried to follow the villains into the black hole in which they were escaping, Stormer abandoned his fight to stop Evo from entering the black hole.

Stormer XL (Close Up)

Stormer chasing Speeda Demon on Kollix IV.

Stormer was assigned to recapture the Villain Speeda Demon. Stormer was outfitted with, Scout Drones, a Power Sword and Hero Cuffs as well as a Ultra Mach Speed Cycle. Stormer then went to the planet Kollix IV where he chased Speeda Demon. He used his Scout Dronerones to fire at Speeda Demon but they were destroyed. However, it gave Stormer enough time to get in front of him. Speeda Demon however, shot a blast of energy which buried Stormer under chunks of ice. Stormer however recovered quickly and cuffed Speeda Demon making him crash into a mountain. He returned to the Hero Factory and learned that the mysterious Black Phantom was inside. Stormer then had Daniella Capricorn give a false report so that Black Phantom would be diverted away from the command room. Stormer, Surge, Furno, Stringer, Evo and Rocka entered the upgrading room where Black Phantom unleashed an army of Arachnix Drones all over the room. However after some quick thinking by Evo, Black Phantom was defeated.

Brain Attack

Stormer in Brain Attack

Stormer after receiving his ZX-79 Upgrade.

During the Brain Attack, Stormer with help from Furno led Bulk, Rocka, Evo and Breez into battle. Stormer mostly fought off the millions of brains on the streets of Makuhero City. Stormer’s most heroic move in the fight was when Stormer froze three Frost Beasts at once. When the Dragon Bolt reached the Hero Factory, Stormer and the Alpha 1 Team and defeated Surge’s army of of Blank Heroes while Rocka defeated Dragon Bolt.

Invasion From Below

Stormer Attacking Another Jaw Beast

Stormer attacking a Jaw Beast on his Freeze Machine.

When Antropolis City was invaded by Jumpers, Stormer led most of Alpha 1 Team there to help out. Stormer later headed into the City in his newly-built Freeze Machine, along with Furno and Rocka in their new Battle Machines. There, he helped Bulk and Surge, and fought Jaw Beasts, ultimately getting dragged underground by one. Stormer was eventually found in the Queen Beast's nest, along with Furno and Surge, when the rest of the Heroes showed up. After Bulk let Stormer out of Evo's Spider Machine's Canister, Stormer threw it at the Queen Beast, pinning her against the falling nest, and largely destroying the rest nest in the process. Stormer then escaped with the rest of the Heroes. Stormer returned to Hero Factory in his Drop Ship with the last cacoon of the species that attacked Antropolis City.

Personality

Stormer is a no-nonsense sort of Hero, and is very loyal. He dislikes theatricality, but is courageous and level-headed in battle. He is currently in turmoil over the death of a Rookie teammate on-mission, despite evidence that he was in no way to blame for the incident, and cannot shake the idea that he could have done something to help. Since then, he has been especially hard on new Team members. Some can take it, but others have to be transferred to other squads.

He is also highly competitive, and set his sights on leading Alpha Team in the knowledge that he would be good at the job. He likes his position of command, but admits that he can sometimes be set in his ways.

Stormer is also very quick to anger, as seen many times on Hero Factory FM.

Appearance

Preston Stormer initially had white and blue armor, as well as translucent blue eyes and Hero Core.

In Stormer’s 2.0 form, he wore white armor, while his eyes and Hero Core remained blue. He also had headgear packed with sensors and fitted with a telescopic lens for better sight.

In Stormer’s 3.0 form, he retains his white armor, as well as his blue eyes and Hero Core. His helmet now resembles that of a White Rhinoceros.

In Stormer’s Breakout XL form, he is a huge, towering hero, with bulky white armor with blue accents, and a giant power sword.

In Brain Attack, Stormer has white and clear light blue armor, a silver and light blue visor, locking clamps, shield, flick-fire missiles, and a sword.

In Invasion From Below, he was primarily white with blue eyes and a silver chest plate.

Weapons

In his early days Stormer used an Ice Pistol with a spike on the edge that could serve as a melee weapon. Stormer was equipped with a Multifunctional Ice Weapon, specially designed for him at his request. The main component of the tool, which covers his entire right arm, is a glacier-like ice blade, known as a bolt shooter. This is formed from a composite ice stronger than ordinary metals, and whilst the blade can form in under a second, a new one must be generated every few minutes. Also attached to the weapon was a high-speed rotary saw blade, a grappling spear, and a hardened piton blade. This weapon was sucked up in a black hole created by Von Nebula during a battle in New Stellac City, though he eventually got it back.

After his first Upgrade, Stormer carried a multi-tool ice shield that could shoot ice spikes. An ice blade was attached to it, which could freeze anything it came into contact with, and a tube leading from the shield meant the weapon could be powered from his Hero Core. He also used a baton in battle.

On Quatros, Stormer carried a claw, featuring dual fold-out blades.

During Breakout, Stormer carried a Power Sword and plasma blaster.

In his ZX-79 Form, Stomer wields an Dual Fold-Out Blades, flick-fire missiles, and a Hero Shield.
